This can happen for a number of reasons, but is usually caused by deleting all files off of the Secure Volume (including Firefox or necessary IronKey files, which may be hidden).

There are a number of ways to potentially fix this problem:

  1. First verify your IronKey version/model.
  2. Log into your IronKey under Windows, go to Control Panel.
  3. Turn Caps Lock ON.
  4. Left-click on the IronKey name or logo in the top left corner of Control Panel to reveal version number, release date, and model.

Next to model you will see if you have a 'Basic', 'Personal', or 'Enterprise' model.

If you have a 'Basic' device, you will not have the Mozilla Firefox icon, as the 'Basic' device has no online functionality.

Unplug the device and plug it in again.

If the icon is not there, you can reformat your Secure Files volume:

  1. Back up your important files with the Secure Backup client or by copying them to your local computer.
  2. Open the IronKey Control Panel and click on "Settings".
  3. Click on "Preferences".
  4. Click on "Reformat Secure Volume..." This should also automatically restore your onboard applications.
--  If the applications did not get restored, you can manually restore the onboard applications (Firefox, Identity Manager, Secure Backup) by clicking the "Restore IronKey Applications" button. Check the box for the applications you want to restore, and then click"OK".
  5. Click "Lock Drive" and unplug your IronKey, then replug it in and unlock it.

The icon should now be in your Application list.
