How do I change the password to my IronKey device?

To change your IronKey's device password (Any IronKey version for Windows, and IronKey versions 2.0+ for Mac): - Plug your IronKey into the computer, and unlock it with the current device password.
- Go the the "Settings" > "Change Password" menu within the IronKey Control Panel.
- Type in your current password.
- Type in your new password, and confirm it in the space provided.
- Optional: Check the box to backup the device password to your my.ironkey.com account (requires Internet connection).
- Click "Change Password".
*We recommend that you back up your IronKey device password to my.ironkey.com, so that if you ever forget it, you can recover it and quickly regain access to your data. ------------------------------------------- To change your IronKey's device password on a Mac (IronKey build 1.3.5.x and prior): - Plug your IronKey into the computer, and unlock it with the current device password.
- Click the "Change Password" button on the IronKey Control Panel.
- Type in your current password.
- Type in your new password, and confirm it in the space provided.
- Click "Change Password".
*The Mac Control Panel versions prior to 2.0 do not allow the device password to be backed up online when changed. ------------------------------------------- To change your IronKey's device password in Linux: - Plug your IronKey into the computer, mount the volumes, and unlock it with the current device password.
- Run the following command in a command shell: ironkey --changepwd 'new password' (e.g.: ironkey --changepwd mysecretpassword)
*The Linux Unlocker does not allow the device password to be backed up online when changed.
